I don't agree with you. When I add the exportAs property is like saying: "You are allow to use my public methods" and you don't take the risk that I'll break it.

But again, it's a personal style decision :)

Don't forget that you must declare your methods as public when you use them in your own component's template. It's not always like you're saying.
